MGO is the minimum methylglyoxal level in milligrams per kilogram, independently tested by an MPI-recognised laboratory. 700+ sits in our premium grade tier, and every batch is graded on its own laboratory result.

Every jar carries a batch code printed on-pack. Enter it at genesishoney.co/trace and you'll see the origin, harvest window and laboratory result for that specific batch.

MGO measures methylglyoxal directly. UMF is a separate licensing programme run by the UMF Honey Association, which bundles MGO with leptosperin and DHA into a broader authenticity grade. We are not licensed under it, so we do not put a UMF number on our honey — we grade on MGO, measured by an accredited laboratory, and publish the certificate for the batch you are holding. Anyone quoting a UMF equivalent without a licence is converting a number they were never given.

Straight off the spoon, stirred into warm (not hot) water with lemon, or layered onto sourdough. Avoid boiling — gentle warmth preserves the honey's character.

Keep it in a cool, dry place with the lid sealed. No refrigeration needed. Natural crystallisation is normal; warm the jar gently in a bowl of warm water if you'd like to soften it.

A daily teaspoon will last most people 6–8 weeks.

Online checkout ships tracked within Australia, except to Western Australia — WA quarantine restricts honey entering the state from elsewhere in the country, so we cannot send there at any price. We are not set up to post honey overseas: exporting it commercially from Australia requires DAFF export registration and health certification for the destination, and most countries restrict honey imports on biosecurity grounds. If you are outside Australia, contact us and we will tell you honestly whether we can help.

Damaged jars are replaced free of charge — email a photo within 7 days of delivery. Unopened jars in original condition can be returned within 30 days. Full details in our Returns & Refunds Policy.
